Dodd-Frank Act - Conflict Minerals

As a result of Section 1502 of U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, companies are required to disclose their source of the raw minerals of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) acknowledged by issuing a rule requiring companies to make public the use of conflict minerals. These regulations aim to restrict funding to armed organizations that manage mining activities in conflict areas, such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is known to involve child labor and forced labor working exceptionally long hours under the hazardous conditions.
